1.8.2 — a cleaner driving screen & a faster start
- Reorganised driving screen. Your speed, roadworks and radar warnings are grouped at the top; turn-by-turn directions sit at the bottom, easy to glance at.
- One-tap navigation. Pick a destination and the route panel becomes a single button — it shows the distance and arrival time, then you tap it to start.
- No more waiting on GPS. The app shows your position right away — indoors or at start-up — instead of getting stuck on “Searching for GPS”.
- Steadier hazard warnings. Roadworks and incidents stay on screen instead of flickering off when you’re stopped.
- Fuel type in the Fuel screen. Choose your fuel with a bigger, clearer picker, right where you compare prices.
1.8.1 — Android Auto map & search before a GPS fix
- Android Auto draws the full map. Roads, water and landmarks now render on the car screen (server-rasterized tiles), so the map is never blank.
- Search works before a GPS fix. Destination search and turn-by-turn no longer crash when you search before the first location lock — it just works.
- Now on Google Play. Drive ships on the Play Store as well as the direct APK.
1.8 — search & navigate
- Search any destination and go. Type a town, street or place — results appear as you type — pick one and Drive takes you there with turn-by-turn directions, voice and named streets. Before, you could only route to a tapped fuel station.
- Turn-by-turn in Android Auto. On the car screen, tap Destino, search, and start guidance — the next-turn card and ETA show right on the map.
- Faster routing, everywhere. Routes now compute on our server (no big download on your phone) and come back in a fraction of a second, even across the country — on Android, iPhone and desktop alike.
- More live traffic. Catalonia (SCT) incidents now show alongside DGT, with richer types — breakdowns, fog, ice/snow, road closures, spills and more.
Earlier (1.7): the web app draws the full map — cameras, section radars and fuel with your live position. (1.6): the whole app and the voice in your language (Spanish, Catalan, Basque, Galician, English, French), real fuel-brand logos, section radars traced along the real road, a lighter map and one-tap voice reports. (1.5): map-first view with every camera + section radar, light/dark theme, speed-scaled alerts. (1.4): live traffic hazards, cheapest fuel nearby & on-route, the real map and on-device routing; DGT + Catalonia (SCT) + OpenStreetMap data, Android Auto & CarPlay — all free and privacy-first.
